Latest Sports Cars question by Chigga: The bad drivers aren’t always the drivers with sports cars…agreed?
Today I was driving home, down one of Toronto’s main roads. I drive a G35 coupe, my companian was driving a 350Z. Behind me was a big red moving van. This guy in the van felt the need to prove something to the Z and I, so at every red he would gun the gas. Leaving me and the guy in the Z looking at each other giving each other puzzled looks.
Anyways, about 4 kilometers later there are two slow moving cars in front of us. The speed limit is 60 km/h, they’re doing 50 km/h. That’s fine, we can change lanes. So the Z moves up, matches speed with the cars, signals, gives lots of time for the two cars to recognize that he’s changing lanes, and does it smoothly, and safely. I go next and do the same thing, I don’t like to cut people off). As I am doing this, the van charges up, goes on incoming traffic lanes, cuts off the slow moving car, and almost clips me! Then he guns the gas the passes both the Z and I…why? I am a safe driver, yet police with target me cause of my car?
I am under the impression that bad drivers are aggressive drivers. You’re right, aggressive drivers come in all cars, but it’s the guy driving the sports car that we remember and associate with aggressive driving

You are so not even joking! I used to have an SUV but I now have a little sports car and I find I am actually driving more carefully than what I used to with the SUV. I am also finding that some of the drivers of the bigger cars (SUVs, vans, trucks, Hummers…) are the more scary drivers. The especially scary part is that now that I am in a much smaller car, if one of these drivers clips me or worse, I am much more vulnerable and will likely suffer serious injury as opposed to whiplash.
In other words, I *very much agree* with you.
